The book has a few very grainy stills from the movies. When a man faints on the deck of an ocean-liner, Groucho shouts, "Come on, crowd around him, everybody. I didn't love MONKEY BUSINESS, although some of the lines have Groucho at his anti-social best. The book, in the age before pre-recorded VHS was even commercially available, was the next best thing to watching DUCK SOUP over and over again. This was precisely the sort of audience it had been intended for forty years before. (The Mini-Cinema became, a year or so later, one of the few theatres which showed ROCKY HORROR at midnight every night for the next five or six years.) I had never seen DUCK SOUP on television, so, seeing it as poured onto a big screen by a projector with a theatre full of people laughing hysterically was almost ideal.

The movie was at the Uniondale Mini-Cinema here on angst-ridden Long Island. I saw DUCK SOUP a month or two before I was given this book. I have a feeling most screenplays as written don't describe shots. Not only does it have the dialogue from two Marx Brothers movies, it describes each shot. (The Mini-Cinema became, a year or so later, one of the few theatres which showe I was given this for my thirteenth birthday.
